Bagh Villas is a boutique jungle camp located on the periphery of Kanha Tiger Reserve. Tucked away in the heart of Central India’s mystical forests, the Bagh Villas experience connects its guests with the jungle by seamlessly bridging the gap between man and nature. With our primary objective being wildlife conservation & sustainable tourism, all our safaris, curated experiences, amenities, homegrown produce, as well as our in-house practices focus on leaving no trace and a minimal carbon footprint.

Inspired by the Maharajas during their hunting expeditions & battle campaigns, the accommodations at Bagh Villas are a tasteful blend of the traditional Jodhpuri Shikar design and the expansive, contemporary touch of an African camp. We have 2 categories of tents – Shikar tents and tented suites. We also have 2 lakeside cottages with adjoining verandahs. Secluded in a quiet corner at the edge of our camp overlooking a private lake, our lakeside cottages are ideal for a family of four or two couples travelling together. Our tents and cottages are spacious yet intimate, each equipped with an en-suite bathroom featuring a bamboo shower, double-vanity wash basins, and a private lakeside verandah deck.

Akhilesh Nair (Umesh) started his career working for the Ministry of Environment and Forests, with Ashok Kumar, a leading wildlife conservationist associated with the Wildlife Protection Society of India. He also had the privilege of working as a research assistant with Dr. Ullas Karanth, a renowned conservation zoologist and one of India’s leading tiger experts.

Mayuresh has always been drawn to the beauty and complexity of the wild, the defining moment being a tiger sighting at the age of 8. Having worked closely with the forest department in the rescue and rehabilitation of wild animals, Mayuresh has spent most of his career as a naturalist in the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra’s oldest National Park.

Born and raised in Madhya Pradesh, Prahlad was exposed to biodiversity and natural beauty from a young age and developed a deep appreciation for the abundant flora and fauna of the area. Armed with a degree in Botany and Biology, he has been working as a naturalist in the jungles of Kanha Tiger Reserve for the last several years.
